Hendrix – Beyond the Purple Haze
This was a fictional book design project (hence the mysterious author, Knopfler Márk :D ) back in 2021, during my second year of university. I look back at this project as a true eye-opener, as it was the first one where I let my imagination loose and yet stay in the boundaries of typography & editorial design. I suppose I have Jimi Hendrix himself to thank for this aha-moment. The essence of the psychedelic era is something I'm reaching back to eversince.

About the book: "Stories from the life of the rock legend through the eyes of those, who knew and loved him"
Each chapter starts with a page of typographic illustration, in sync with the photo next to it. The spread designs include psychedelic swirls and lyrics from different Hendrix-songs.
Here's a timelapse of how the type illustrations came together in Procreate. I will forever love this project. :)
